A book written in runic by the dwarves. I will let you translate, good luck.

The runes translate into Dwarvish, not English. I think they are Cirth letters, but I may be wrong. I cannot guarantee that they are correct, but I tried my best. (If you read Dwarvish, which not many people can do, please correct me.) Since they translate in to Dwarvish, I don’t know what they mean, though I can see some resemblance in the letter patterns. I’m translating them into their Angerthas Erebor values, which represent the sounds. I’m also using a mix of Angerthas Moria values. This symbol: ’ is used to represent a guttural stop sound. The value for these letters:  are swapped sometimes, so that they represent either the s sound or the h sound. Here I translated each line separately, getting:

Frarhy Lón y Nali fell dher br

Avcely wile dhe rest retreated to

Maúrabul. We still sold chambe

Translating to English: “We cannot get out. We cannot get out. They have taken the bridge and the second hall. (Which is what Gandalf says, thus I am correct there.) Fráry, Lóny, and Náli fell there bravely while the rest retreated to Maúarbul. We still sold the chamber, but hope is fading now. Óin’s party went but today only four returned. The pool is up to the wall…”
